Statement

My style is a mixture of  modern impressionism and illustration. I enjoy working with all mediums, but my favorite medium is acrylic , primarily Golden OPEN slow drying. 

Biography

Mickey's early life  was spent on Long Beach Island , a barrier island on New York's Long Island South Shore .  He spent  his  time exploring and fishing the  cuts and waterways of the Reynolds Channel Estuary and the rock jetty's on the beaches between his family's home and Point Lookout. Combined with his years of U.S Coast Guard Service and a lifetime of boating and fishing, Mickey has an almost inexhaustible supply of inspirational coastal life memories to draw from. His style is a  a mixture of  modern impressionism and illustration. Although proficient  with a variety of mediums Mickey works primarily with OPEN, slow drying acrylics and water miscible oils. Mickey's paintings have been selected three times  to be part of the prestigious “ Best of the Best “ juried exhibition held at  the A E Backus Museum in Ft Pierce, FL.  He is an active member holding Professional Status of The Martin Artisans Guild ( Stuart FL ) and represented and sold at the Palm Gallery , Sewell's Point , FL. Mickey's  studio is in Jensen Beach Florida.  He is a member of the following: ASMA, NOAPS, AIS and OPA
